The book starts with an extensive description of the career of designer, teacher and artist Henk Cornelissen.
After a brilliant international design career, graphic designer Henk Cornelissen closed his studio at the end of 1987. A turning point, as it would turn out. He was only 46 years old at the time. From that moment on, alongside his teaching position at the St. Joost Academy, Henk dedicated himself with iron discipline to creating work for which the parameters were determined not by the client, but by himself. Always on the same paper format of 50×65 cm, he henceforth created graphic structures according to rules and agreements predetermined by him.
Several authors, with very different backgrounds, have looked at Henk's work, his process and the person from their own expertise and expressed this in an essay.
