For this work, a square grid consisting of 9 units (3×3) is used. With a die of 12, the die is cast for the line operations performed within this larger square with pen. 1 = horizontal only, 2 = horizontal + vertical, 3 = horizontal, vertical, diagonal right, etc. In the sketchbook we not only see which numbers represent which operations, but also an accurate registration of what has been thrown on the sheet per large square .
