100.000
2019

Here we see another circular work, a successor to a work in 2015. First, Henk draws a dotted continuous winding contour line. He works with a red marker pen. Then the inner shape is filled with dots. Henk counts all the dots during the placement and records this in his sketchbook: each dot noted there represents a hundred dots in reality. While filling the inner mold, Henk keeps an eye on the evenness over the entire sheet. The intended density was tested in a sketch, but Henk had no idea how many dots would be needed to fill the entire surface. At 100.000 dots, a nice number, Henk decides that it is enough.
