Four colors of ink are used for this very complex work. Each color corresponds to a number of pips on a die of twelve. 1 2 3 = black, 4 5 6 = red, 7 8 9 = green and 10 11 12 = blue. A grid of 25 rectangles is drawn on the sheet. Each rectangle is subdivided with a 5 mm grid. One by one the rectangles are provided with a very laborious structure. Lines are drawn in four directions on this fine grid (horizontal, vertical, diagonal left, diagonal right). First the die is played for the color and then for the number of times a line is drawn with that color. First the vertical lines at half a centimeter. Then the horizontal lines (dice for color and the number of grid units) that are continued vertically to the bottom edge of the rectangle. Subsequently, the diagonals (from left to right and then from right to left) are determined and drawn in the same way. (first roll the dice for the color, then for the number of lines). The whole process is then repeated once again at the center of the grid. The lines are hand drawn over the canvas. This entire process is repeated 25 times on this sheet. Henk has made a series of three works in succession with 4 colors of ink (black, red, green, blue). This one, the most complex, is the third in the series.
