We see a collage work belonging to the so-called SMOKEPIECES, works that Henk made after he had once again made an attempt to quit smoking. For this work he used the divider cardboard from the cigar boxes, which he had of course kept. This loose interior always separates 10 cigars in the box and is characterized by the folded lip. First, a grid is drawn based on the half size of the cardboard. A dice is played to determine whether the lip should be left or right during application. The next line jumps the cardboard one grid each time. Left or right, residual spaces are created that are filled with flat cardboard. In 2013 another work will be made with these dividers.
